Strathfield Consolidated Development Control Plan (DCP) 2005 was adopted by Council on 4 April 2006 and came into force on 3 May 2006. This document was prepared in response to the introduction of the Environmental Planning and Assessment (Infrastructure and Other Planning Reform) Act 2005. This is to ensure that only one DCP applies to the same area of land. Recent Amendments to Strathfield DCP 2005The following amendments to the Strathfield Consolidated (DCP) 2005 were adopted by Council on 14 June 2011 and took effect on 7 July 2011.
- ‘Part N – Water Sensitive Urban Design’
The amendments relate to new objectives and controls to incorporate Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) within development in the Strathfield Local Government Area. (WSUD) seeks to ensure that urban development and urban landscapes are designed, constructed and maintained in a manner that minimizes the impacts on the urban water cycle – drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and groundwater.
The General Introduction includes some minor amendments to ‘Contents’ and ‘Development to Which This Consolidated Plan Applies.’ To assist applicants in understanding the requirements of the new Part N DCP, supporting documents have also been prepared with the DCP including : - Fact Sheet: Water Sensitive Urban Design - provides applicants with general information on Council’s WSUD requirements
