The following Strathfield Council Heritage Conservation Awards were presented in 2005 to the following:

Public Building Winner

Homebush Uniting Church for sympathetic restoration and use of colour schemes in a historic and heritage listed Church.

Private Building Winner

43-45 Homebush Road Strathfield for superior restoration and sympathetic additions contributing to the heritage of Strathfield.

Historic Research Winner

Dan Stewart for his book ‘Mount Royal to Mount Saint Mary – A history of the Christian Brothers at Mount Saint Mary 1908-1992’.

Highly Commended Awards

• 36 Howard Street Strathfield for sympathetic renovation and additions to an Interwar style home.
• 17 Birnam Grove Strathfield for quality craftsmanship and detailing of a new home adopting heritage themes.
• 58 The Crescent Homebush for sympathetic fencing complementing a Victorian style heritage listed home.
• 59 Rochester Street Homebush for detailed and authentic restoration of a Federation style home in a heritage conservation area.
