Focus on helmet use for this year’s NSW Bike Week

| A | A

Strathfield Council will focus on helmet awareness during this month to mark NSW Bike Week (20-28 September).

Helmet use will be the theme of a colouring in competition run by Council, with the competition promoted via schools, child care centres, OOSH, Council libraries, local papers, Council’s website and Burwood Cycleworld.

RTA posters promoting helmet and safe cycling will also be put up around schools, OOSH, childcare centres, Burwood Cycleworld and Council facilities.

Newsletter inserts will be provided to schools for parent information regarding safe cycling.

Winners of the colouring in competition will receive a $40 gift voucher to used at Burwood Cycleworld. There are 10 vouchers, which are funded by Council, to be won. If winners buy a Netti helmet from Cycleworld using the voucher (RRP $59), the store will subsidise the difference meaning they pay nothing more. The friendly staff at Cycleworld will ensure helmets are correctly fitted.

With the school holidays fast approaching remember “Always wear a helmet when you ride or skate”.
