Strathfield Council is inviting residents to nominate community members for the 2010 “Citizen of the Year” and “Young Citizen of the Year” awards.
Mayor of Strathfield Tony Maroun said this is a great opportunity for residents in the municipality to put forward a nomination of someone they know who works tirelessly for the benefit of the community.
The awards, provided by the National Australia Day Council, acknowledge the achievements of local residents who have made an outstanding contribution to the Strathfield community.
To be eligible for either award, the nominated person must be an Australian citizen who has either made a noteworthy contribution to the Strathfield community during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
To be eligible for the “Young Citizen of the Year” award, nominees must be under 25 years of age.
For an entry form, visit Council’s Customer Service Centre, Strathfield libraries or click here. Nominations close on Friday 11 December at 5pm. For further information, contact Council on 9748 9999.
