The library currently receives a selection of the most popular daily metropolitan newspapers such as the Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, and Australian Financial Review.
Local Newspapers
The Library collects local newspapers circulated in the Strathfield Municipality. Local newspapers are bound and are part of the Local Studies Collection.

Newspapers in languages other than English such as Korean, Chinese, Russian and Tamil are provided by Strathfield Library.
Magazines and Serials
General, popular and specialist magazines are purchased with an emphasis where possible on providing the Australian edition. Generally, popular periodicals are available for loan, while the more technical periodicals are housed in the Reference Collection.
Junior and Young Adult magazines are purchased in general interest areas.
