The audio-visual collection supplements and complements the print materials and gives access to sound and image information aimed at providing recreational viewing, listening and instructional materials. The audio-visual collections include DVDs, videos, music CDs, talking books on CD and cassette, and language kits.

Music recordings include classical, jazz, rhythm and blues, general popular, rock, country and western, film and stage shows, ethnic, religious, ambient and childrens.

A collection of book readings, documentary and instructional audio cassettes are also available. Talking books in cassette and CD formats are available for those with a print disability.

The video collection, in form of VHS and DVD, includes documentaries, instructional material, live performances of opera, ballet and music. Children’s videos include titles produced especially to stimulate and educate.
