There are a number of ways you can contact a Justice of the Peace (JP).  The functions of a Justice of the Peace (JP) under the Justices of the Peace Act (2002) are to:

• administer oath declarations or affidavits, and taking statutory declarations and affirmations principally under the Oaths Act 1900
• witness signatures
• attest and certify documents

Justices of the Peace (JP) in the local area are registered with the NSW Attorney-General’s Department.  Names and contact numbers can be searched online by postcode.

A Justice of the Peace is available at Council during office hours. Please telephone 9748 9999 to make an appointment prior to visiting Council to ensure the JP is available at the time and on the day you require.

A Community JP Desk operates from Strathfield Library, 65-67 Rochester Street Homebush, on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
