Strathfield Municipal Council

Oath of Office

In a show of commitment to serve and represent the best interests of the community, all seven of Strathfield’s councillors signed the Oath of Office on 25 November 2008.

The pledge reads:

"We, the elected Council of the Municipality of Strathfield, are honoured to serve the community of the Municipality of Strathfield and promise to fulfil our duties to the best of our ability. We are committed to open and accountable government and will act, at all times, in the interests of the community, without favour, and in accordance and with the respect of the law."

Mayor of Strathfield Keith Kwon said; “It was really satisfying to see all of us come together to sign the Oath of Office,” he said.

“Like at any Council, as a group we don’t always see eye-to-eye on all issues, but what cannot be denied, and is proven by the signing of the oath, is that we are all equally committed to serving the community to the best of our ability, with their interests always at the forefront of our minds."
