A development application (DA 2010/183) was received by Council on 8 November 2010 for alterations and change of use from a residential dwelling to a childcare centre for a heritage listed item.  

The change in use of the existing dwelling into a child care centre with associated works was refused by the Planning Committee at its meeting on 10 May 2011 as it was not considered to be in the public interest

However, on appeal to the New South Wales Land and Environment Court (LEC), consent was granted to the application.
