Local Government elections will be held on Saturday 13 September 2008.
Elections will be held for the election of seven Councillors. Strathfield Council does not have wards. The Councillors elected will serve a 4 year term.

- Close of Rolls: Monday 4 August 2008
- Close of Nominations: Wednesday 13 August 2008
- Registration of How-to Vote Material closes: Monday 25 August 2008

Voting
Voting is compulsory for all residents of Strathfield LGA who are registered on the electoral roll. Electors enrolled for Federal and State elections are automatically enrolled for their local Council area.
