Nominations Now Open
Nominations are now open for the 2009 Australia Day Awards for “Citizen of the Year” and “Young Citizen of the Year”.
The awards recognise outstanding achievers who have made an invaluable contribution to the Municipality and Council encourages to nominate someone they know who has helped to make a positive contribution to the Strathfield community.
To download an entry package click here or visit Council’s Customer Service Centre, the library to obtain an entry form. Nominations will be accepted until 19 December with winners announced on Australia Day.
OurRiver - Cooks River Sustainability Initiative

The Cooks River Sustainability Initiative is a partnership between eight councils – Ashfield, Bankstown, Canterbury, City of Sydney, Hurstville, Marrickville, Rockdale and Strathfield and is focused on six local areas within the Cooks River catchment. Fridge Buyback Program Returns
Council is encouraging residents in the Municipality to hand in their old, inefficient working second fridge and have it collected for free as part of the “Fridge Buyback” scheme.
To qualify for the Fridge Buyback offer, second fridges must be at least 10 years old, 250 litres or larger and in working order. Householders can arrange for collection by clicking here or by calling the Fridge Buyback toll free hotline on 1800 708 401.
