About the Community Consultation Panel
Council has a Community Consultation Panel with community members from different suburbs of the Strathfield Municipality, representing all walks of life and life stages, to obtain community views on Council’s future directions.
The Community Consultation Panel is a representative sample of local residents of the Strathfield Municipality who provide the Council with feedback, opinions and ideas. The Panel helps Council understand the views of the public on a range of topics through questionnaires and focus groups.
The Panel is consulted on a few occasions during the year, usually taking the form of a questionnaire.
Most of the questionnaires can be completed in a few minutes and will be sent in the post and available online. Panellists will generally be given three weeks to complete and return them in a pre-paid envelope. There may be other ad hoc questionaries throughout the year.
Panellists may be asked to attend focus groups to talk face-to-face about a particular issue. They will be held at convenient times to minimise time commitment and are entirely voluntary. There is no obligation to be involved in every activity that the panel holds.
The type of issues which Council surveys the panel include:
- Key strategies and policies of the Council
- Services of the Council
- Planning, environmental and community issues
The Panel provides you with an opportunity to give your views on a wide range of topics and to take part in decisions that affect our community. Your opinions are taken into consideration when Council develops policies and plans services. You will receive feedback on results of surveys and how Council is taking your views into account.
